Meet Our Staff

Jim Braziel

Store Manager & Instructor

Bio

Jim served with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office from 1977 to 1995 as a Deputy Sheriff, SWAT  Team Member and Team Leader and as the Training Sergeant. He was also Interim Director of the Greenville County Office for Emergency Preparedness from 1992 to 1993 and served with the International Tactics to Combat Terrorism Team in 1995. In addition to his responsibilities with Sharpshooters, Jim also currently serves as chaplain for the TR Fire Department.

Jim’s vast experience also includes time assisting the Secret Service for Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H. Bush and Vice President Dan Quayle. He is an NRA Appointed Training Counselor, Chief Range Safety Officer, and is NRA certified to instruct Personal Protection in the Home, Home Firearm Safety, shotgun and pistol. He was trained in firearms and explosives though the Department of Treasury / ATF, is certified through the U.S. Coast Guard in national search and rescue, and attended the Pan American Training Institutes “Strategic Reaction Team. Training” levels 1 and 2. and served as an adjunct instructor with Pan Am.

He completed first response training in Terrorism through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and has level 2 certification in firearm instruction through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. He is a PPCT Spontaneous Knife Defense Instructor and a certified armor through the Smith and Wesson Academy. He also completed the GLOCK Armorers Course in firearms and safety and is a Level 3 SLED concealed weapons security officer. Jim is certified to teach Concealed Weapon’s courses in South Carolina and Utah.

J.R. Frazier

Instructor

Bio

J.R. Frazier served in the United States Army 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. He also served in the Greenville City Police Department, Parker District Fire Department and retired from being the Fire Chief of Gantt District Fire Department.
He is a South Carolina certified Concealed Weapon Permit Instructor, NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, NRA Certified Range Safety officer, Utah Concealed Firearms Permit Instructor, and South Carolina Hunter Safety Education Instructor.

J.R. has been involved in the firearms industry for over 25 years. His goal is to introduce people to shooting sports for a safe and enjoyable time on the range or in the field. J.R. has been a lifelong hunter and shooter. He enjoys bringing new shooters into the sport through professional training. With his extensive experience, J.R. can provide the help people need in selecting the correct firearm for its intended purpose.

James Chapman

Chief Range Safety Officer

Bio

James Chapman has served in the U.S. Army for over 10 years. He is the Chief Range Safety Officer at SharpShooters, overseeing daily operations, competitive matches and regular onsite IDPA events.

His specialized training and experience make him the ideal personal instructor to fit any ability level for individuals wanting to further develop their shooting skills. James is a certified instructor with the NRA and offers courses in Self Defense, Tactical Carbine and Tactical Pistol.

Vic Seiter

Instructor, Communications

Bio

Vic Seiter serves as the Program Director for the Greenville Hurricanes Marksmanship Team, coaching upstate youth in Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun and 3 Position Air Rifle.
He is a certified NRA Rifle and Pistol Instructor, NRA Certified Rifle Coach and NRA Certified Range Safety Officer. He is a certified shotgun coach with the SCYSF-South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation and SCTP-Scholastic Clay Target Program through Clemson 4H Shooting Sports. He coaches middle and high school teams to take them to multiple events throughout the year including the South Carolina DNR State Governors Cup in Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays.

Vic has competed in Glock Pistol matches throughout the country for over 20 years. He is a Life member and Range Safety Officer for the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation. He has coached 4 Junior Pistol Teams to 1st place Glock Match finishes in 4 states– Charleston, SC, Savannah, GA, Talladega, AL and Morganton, NC.
His background includes serving as a City Law Enforcement Officer with the OCPD and has trained church security teams in Greenville County. Vic earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University in Geographic Information Systems, then worked with Military, Law Enforcement and County agencies to utilize G.I.S. software that maps assets, analyzes incidents, and evaluates data for optimal decision making. He chaired the Committee for Greenville County’s G.I.S. Alliance and assisted in the implementation of mapping software systems for Greenville County and the Planning Department for Greenville County Schools.

Vic knows the value of good training and loves to introduce people to shooting sports, walking them through organized programs for a lifetime of safe, enjoyable shooting skills.
